  soften my heart,

Show me the child

Show me she was worthy

  before she even knew her name.

Where I see weakness,

  show me the strength it took to survive.

Where I see brokenness,

  show me the places where Your grace kept me alive.

Where I see mistakes,

  show me mercy.

Where I see imperfections,

  teach me that I am wonderfully Yours.

Take away the eyes

  that measure and compare.

Show me what You see

  remind me of Your care.

Let me see a soul

  worthy of kindness.

A heart worthy of rest.

When I forget,

remind me again:

  I am not my past.

  I am not my wounds.

  I am not my failures.

  I am not what others failed to see.

I am Your creation.

I am held.

I am cherished.

I am enough—not because I have proven it,

  but because You say I am.

Teach me to look at myself

  with the compassion You have for me.

Show me how to love like You

   and quiet all the lies.

Make kindness my inner voice,

and let me see myself

  through Your eyes.
